As the Bruins took the ice still not having a lost a game in regulation at home, Carolina took their shot to try and snap the season long streak. Jaroslav Halak got the start in this game it was his 500th career start in his 14th year. He would get the shutout, his second of the season and remain a wall in goal as the backup behind Tuukka Rask.
The game would stay tied at 0 into the third period and throughout. Eventually the Bruins would get on the board when Charlie Coyle got very little on a pass from Brad Marchand, but it was enough to beat James Reimer, the Hurricanes goalie.
Just over a minute later, the Bruins would double their lead as Charlie McAvoy would take a quick shot from the blue line that got deflected off the stick of David Krejci. For Krejci it was his 200th career goal and sealed the win for the B’s. While the night was filled with personal milestones, this team continued to play in sync and roll to their 8th straight win. They will be back in action on Thursday night as they remain home to play the Chicago Blackhawks.
