You’ve heard the saying Christmas in July, but have you heard Christmas in March? Well, consider today Christmas Eve in March. The reason? Tomorrow is Opening Day!! The best day of the year and without a doubt should be a national holiday. Close the schools, close the government buildings, close EVERYTHING! Everyone should be on their butts on the couch or at a sports bar, even at the game! If I could, if it were ever possible, I would be at all 15 ballparks. Now I know this that isn’t possible, but picture in picture is certainly possible, and I will definitely be watching as many games at one time as I can.
What You Should See:
- The first game of the season Chicago Cubs vs. Miami Marlins 12:40 pm
Jon Lester taking on Jose Urena
Jon Lester may not be making many (if any at all) pick off attempts, but here’s a gem of from June of 2017 when he caught Tommy Pham of the St. Louis Cardinals sleeping at first base.
- St. Louis Cardinals vs. New York Mets 1:10 pm
This might be the game of the day, Carlos Martinez vs. (Thor) Noah Syndergaard
These are two fire ballers going up against each other in a game that will have no shortage of 100 mph pitches.
- New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays 3:37 pm
In what might be looked at as the most powerful team in baseball, the New York Yankees are set to debut Giancarlo Stanton in the pinstripes. The scary trio of Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Gary Sanchez look to start the season with a bang.
- Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays 4 pm
Chris Sale vs Chris Archer
Chris Archer might be the best player on the roster for the Rays, and struggled with an ERA of 4.07 last season.
Chris Sale a likely preseason pick to be in the Cy Young talks hopes to get a little more run support to start the season unlike last year when he only received 3 runs of support in the whole month of April.
So whether you are at the office, or lucky enough to be home tomorrow, make sure you tune in to the best day of the year.
