Migos / Kendrick / Russ / Wiz / Rae Sremmurd... the list goes on for hip-hop shows I got in this Summer. Most were at the Xfinity and among many over-drinking teenagers.
I missed Jaden Smith!!!! Yeah, Karate Kid! Yeah, Will and Jada's baby. I was a Jaden hater when his new album dropped, but the kid has grown on me over the Summer. When I arrived fashionably late for Young Thuggles, finding out I missed Jaden was a heart-breaker. I was told by many that they loved his performance.
I have a soft spot in my heart for Young Thug. I am biased, but I do have some negatives to throw out there for the Thuggles performance. Well, one negative. 30 mins???!!! I needed more. However, when you are featured on a bunch of songs and have special guests all over your album, it is tough to do those songs. He was great though. The man wore an immaculate blue suit and about 30 diamond necklaces.
J. Cole was the headliner. J. Cole came up in Fayetteville, NC. I got to see him very early in his career. To see him now is shocking. Not because it is amazing to see the kid control a house party and is now touring for thousands of fans. It is shocking to see how he looks. He use to be a clean cut R&B guy. Now, he needs a haircut, new clothes, and is a mad rapper. Listen, his new album is loved by a lot of people and I understand that. I like old J. Cole.
All-in-all, it was a great Wednesday night. I give it a 6 out of 10 gold chains.
