Analysis:
No matter who talk to, this all Fairfield County Championship game will feature two of the state's best. Greenwich is looking to complete unfinished business, with a 2nd consecutive championship appearance in as many years. The Cardinals' 31-22 loss to Darien in last year's finals was the only their only loss and are hungry to complete the task this season. Senior QB Gavin Muir is what makes this offense go. He has a cannon for arm, and is always looking for the big play. Even more so, he's also the third leading rusher on the team with over 200 yds on the ground. His 6'3" 210 lb frame makes him not only dangerous the pocket, but also makes him a nightmare in open space. On defense, senior Jack Feda is a tackling machine, and his partner senior Mozi Bici is tied for the most sacks in the state. Look for them to show up big.
In New Canaan's first season as a Class LL team, they continue to show why they are one of the premier teams in the state. They dominated Class L winning state titles from 2013-2016 before losing in state semis in 2017. This season all they did was beat top seeded Shelton on the road and held Fairfield Prep to a single touchdown. Their passing attack of QB Drew Pyne and WR Quintin O'Connell are looking to avenge their 42-14 blowout loss at home earlier this season to Greenwich in which they were shut out in the 2nd half. Defensive star Drew Guida has six interceptions on the season, and will be key factor if the Rams want to win their 1st Class LL title.
The Cardinals are looking to finish the job. The Rams know a win gets them revenge and the Chip.
So who wins?
Greenwich won't let their 1st State title in ten years slip by them again.
Greenwich wins 34-28
