Providence Pours It On

Cornell was unable to generate much offense in the 2nd. Only registering 4 shots in the period, Mullin’s chance in front ended up being one of the best scoring opportunities for Big Red. Providence’s defense was in good position to prevent any rebound chances.

The offense continued for the Friars in the 2nd and delivered a pair of goals to pad the lead. Providence’s Josh Wilkins made it 2-0 and with 1 second remaining in the period, Scott Conway stretched the lead to 3-0 with a beautiful deflection in front for the power-play goal. At the moment, the best thing going for Cornell is their band.

After being outshot 14-4 in the 2nd and 22-10 for the game, Big Red will need a big 3rd period if they want to keep their hopes of punching a ticket to the Frozen Four alive!
