Jones wins his debut with the Giants

Yesterday Daniel Jones won his first start for the Giants but the win did not come without a cost thou the Giants lost Barkley during the game with a high ankle sprain and he's expected to be out 4 to 8 weeks.

Daniel Jones was outstanding in his first start he went 23 for 36 for 336 yards with 2 passing TD's and 2 rushing TD's his second rushing TD was on the game winning drive. Jones brought an element to the offense that Eli didn't with his mobility which he was able to make plays when he didn't get good protection. Evan Engram and Sterling Shepard also had big games Engram had 6 receptions for 113 yards and had a huge touchdown to start the 2nd half, Shepard had 7 receptions for 100 yards. Despite the win the Giants O-line and run game struggled yesterday the O-line allowed 5 sacks and Nate Solder had a very rough game Shaq Barrett dominated him getting 4 sacks against him. The Giants struggled to run the ball yesterday Barkley only had 10 yards rushing before he left the game in the 2nd quarter, Wayne Gallman did not do much on the ground with 13 yards rushing and he is really going to have to step up with Barkley out.

On defense the Giants started like they did the first 2 weeks giving up 28 points in the first half. But it was a combination the Giants getting pressure on Jameis Winston with Markus Golden and Oshane Ximines and playing up on the Bucs receivers was a big reason why they held them to 3 points in the 2nd half. The Giants struggled to stop the run yesterday the combination of Ronald Jones and Peyton Barber run for over 100 yards. Lastly the secondary had an up and down day Deandre Baker had his best game of the year and Jabrill Peppers did a good job containing OJ Howard but Janoris Jenkins had a very rough day he had the task of having to cover Mike Evans and he really struggled Evans had a huge game with 8 catches for 190 Yards.

Player of the Game: This was an obvious choice Daniel Jones he went 23 for 36 for 336 Yards with 4 total TD's and rushed for the game winning TD.

Up Next: The Giants host the Redskins this Sunday at MetLife Stadium at 1 PM.
