It was a great start for the Bruins in this game as they would get on the board early and jump all over the Penguins and Matt Murray. Jake DeBrusk scored the first goal in this game when he got his third of the year. He carried the puck into the zone and skated through the left circle firing a bad angle shot that went right past Murray.
Later in the first period the Bruins would double their lead as Brad Marchand scored his ninth of the year extending his point streak to 13 games, after he batted the puck out of mid-air to beat Murray.
Early in the second period David Pastrnak scored his 14th goal of the year and improving his point streak to 14 games as he beat Murray off the post and the Penguins would pull him for the backup Tristan Jarry.
Once the Penguins went to their backup goalie, things fell apart for the Bruins as they let up four consecutive goals to fall behind 4-3 heading to the third period.
Halfway through the period the Bruins would tie the game on a Torey Krug slap shot during 4-on-4 play.
Late in the period the Bruins would once again get the lead with Brad Marchand’s second goal of the game to get him to ten on the season.
The Bruins would hold off the Penguins attack through the rest of the period and Patrice Bergeron would score in the empty net to put the game out of reach. The Bruins continued their hot start to the season improving their record to 11-1-2 with the 6-4 win at TD Garden. The Bruins are right back to action tomorrow night in Montreal against the Canadiens at 730pm.
