Bruins Blow 4 Goal Lead, Lose in Shootout

With the Florida Panthers in town for the first time this season, things couldn’t be going worse for the Bruins…or could they. Having lost the last 3 games heading into this match-up and from all reports of practice this week, the Bruins were ready to end their losing streak and get back on track as the best team in the NHL. Through the first two periods it looked as if the Bruins were back to the winning formula as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead.

Then the third period happened…and the Bruins did not look the same. Florida went on to score 4 straight goals and tie the game, forcing overtime. For the Bruins this is now their second straight overtime game which eventually made its way to a shootout. Last game the Bruins lost in a shootout with Jaroslav Halak in net, this time with Tuukka Rask they looked to bounce back. Unfortunately they wouldn’t get the job done and just as they blew a 4-0 lead, they lost the game. This game really shouldn’t have gone to a shootout, because when you blow a four goal lead, you don’t deserve to win.

Here are the four goals from the second period tonight:

The Bruins will once again look to bounce back from yet another devastating loss as they take on the Maple Leafs in Toronto which will not be an easy match-up.
