Pastrnak’s Hat Trick Leads B’s over Jets

After a much needed win in Nashville, the Bruins returned to Boston where they hosted not only the Winnipeg Jets, but once again the moms were in attendance for the home leg of the mother’s trip. With the mother’s in attendance the Bruins are now 2-0 and I’m starting to think that they might be a good luck charm. This wasn’t a runaway win like the Nashville game, but the Bruins played strong hockey all game long. The Jets would score first in this game only seven minutes in, but David Pastrnak would score his first of the game on a quick release snap shot from the slot to tie it up.

In the second period, the Jets would score to take the lead once again, but it would not last long as Pasta would score his second of the night tying the game at 2.

Late in the period, the Jets would find themselves caught making a really bad defensive change. Jake DeBrusk would pick off the puck and sneak past everyone scoring on the breakaway to give the Bruins the lead.

The game would become tied once again as the Jets scored with seconds remaining in the period. As the game moved onto the third period, the Jets would score to take their third lead of the night before David Pastrnak would score the hat trick goal to tie the game for the third time.

Less than a minute later, DeBrusk would deflect a shot in to give the Bruins the lead.

With the goalie pulled the Jets did everything they could to beat Halak, but the team defense did a great job of wasting time and clearing the zone holding on to win the game 5-4.

The Bruins next game will be on Saturday night at 7pm when they take on the New York Islanders on the road.
