STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men’s basketball team will make its way to “Bubbleville” this week, traveling to Mohegan Sun Arena for two non-conference games.
The Huskies will still be a part of the Roman Legends Classic, which has been changed to a showcase event rather than a tournament, with one of the original teams forced to withdraw.
On Thursday, Dec. 3, the Huskies (2-0) will take on Southern California as part of the Roman Legends Classic at 7 p.m.in a game televised by ESPN. It will be the first-ever meeting between UConn and USC. The Trojans, out of the Pac-12 Conference, have started the season 2-0 with home wins over California Baptist, 95-87 in overtime, and Montana, 76-62, and are scheduled to play BYU in a Legends Classic game on Tuesday at Mohegan Sun Arena.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, UConn will challenge North Carolina State in a “Bubbleville” game, scheduled for a noon tipoff, televised by ESPNU. UConn has an all-time record of 2-3 against the Wolfpack, out of the ACC, but the teams have not met for eight years. This season, NC State (2-0) has posted victories over Charleston Southern, 95-61, and North Florida, 86-51.
UConn started its 2020-21 season last week with victories over Central Connecticut, 102-75, and Hartford, 69-57, both games at Gampel Pavilion.
