Last Thursday Dan Hurley was hired as Uconn Head Coach to replace Kevin Ollie.
Hurley played high school basketball for his father at St. Anthony high school, then went on to play in college at Seton Hall were he lead the Pirates to three NCAA tournament appearances.
His coaching career began as an assistant at Rutgers for four years after that he went to St. Anthony for a year to be a assistant for his dad then he went on to become the head coach at St.Benedict's high school for 9 years.
His college coaching career began at Wagner in 2010 were he went 38-23 in 2 seasons then he went on to Rhode Island and went 113-82 in 6 seasons where he lead the rams to the NCAA tournament in 2016 and 2017.
With his previous college coaching experience and coming from a basketball rich family he should be able to turn the Huskies around for years to come.
Hurley grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey.
He is the brother of Arizona State head coach and former Duke point guard Bobby Hurley.
His father, Bob Hurley, is a legend in high school basketball winning 28 state titles at St. Anthony High School in Jersey City.
Hurley is married to his wife Andrea and has two boys Danny and Andrew.
